Simplicity 2594: Next Version already!

My second version of this top is done!  For this version I used a white cotton with a blue dotted paisley print.  I cut the size 12 and raised the armhole by 1".  There's not much new to say about this pattern except that I still REALLY like it!  My original version is blogged about here.

I mentioned in my first review that step #17 was a little confusing.  This time, I took photos of my process.  It's hopefully easy to follow since the yoke and the yoke lining are different fabrics (the lining is plain white).

Match the wrong side of the front to the Right side of the yoke lining, stitch.  Repeat for the back seam: wrong side of the back fabric matched with the right side of the yoke lining.

It looks like this from the inside:

Press the bottom of the right side of the yoke fabric under 5/8"
Front yoke pressed over 5/8"

Pin the folded edge over the seam allowance at the front shoulder and back.  Pin or hand baste and topstitch.
Pinned and ready to topstitch
I hope that helps clarify the process!

  1. Thanks for making a tutorial on this step. I am about to get started on this shirt and am going to take this with me to use when I get to that step.
